GIFT OF FAITH: [PART 9B].

(II). GIFT FAITH:

“It is a supernatural anointing of the Holy Spirit upon a believer’s heart, giving him or her assurance, boldness; and confidence to accept; obey and do what God requires even if it is to be done under very unusual circumstances and situations”

  • Gift Faith is exclusively God’s prerogative.
  • He decides WHAT he wants done; WHERE; WHEN; HOW and WHO to use.
  • The vessel he uses is also his choice.
  • It is not the faith of the vessel in operation but Jesus Christ in him operating himself through his faith.
  • The individual is moved aside, and yields himself to let the supernatural God take control.

62-1014M - THE STATURE OF A PERFECT MAN: [Rev. William Marrion Branham]
350. If you die, you take the blood out of a man, you embalm him. Trouble of it is, a lot of them never got embalmed. You take the blood out of the man, he's gone. Then the only thing you do is put another blood back in him; he's going to live again. You took his blood out.

351. And now we've put the Blood of Jesus Christ in, see, and that brings the faith of Jesus Christ, the virtue of Jesus Christ, the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the temperance of Jesus Christ, the patience of Jesus Christ, the godliness of Jesus Christ, the brotherly kindness of Jesus Christ, and the love of God, which is Jesus Christ.

He's the Head and controls you. And your feet is the foundation, faith. Amen! Controlled by the Head, There you are. There is the perfect man of God, when he possesses these virtues.

[GAL.2:20]

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Before a believer steps out into action to substantiate this gift faith, it has first got to be revealed personally.  There is no presumption about it. There is no imagining involved. It comes by revelation. This kind of Faith knows no obstacles or barriers.

65-1127E - I Have Heard But Now I See: [Rev. William Marrion Branham]
56.  But Satan thought he could twist him around a little bit, and cuff him up, and make him do it. But, you see, Job with his perfect revelation of God, and who God was, and how God loved him, he waited! No matter what the circumstances was, he waited for his faith to be confirmed, because he had had a grip on God, a revelation. That I spoke of last night.

57. Now, when the sick people that's in the building, the crippled people, or you that have a need of God, when you can get that type of a revelation that you are "justified," when you are actually justified in asking the thing that you're asking for, and believe that "He is a Rewarder of those that diligently seek after Him,"there's nothing can ever separate you from that faith that's anchored to you. See? But, first, it has to be revealed to you.

EXAMPLES OF GIFT FAITH:

ON HUMANS:

(I). IT WAS GIVEN TO YOUNG DAVID AGAINST A BEAR; A LION AND GOLIATH THE GIANT.

53-0611 - Show Us The Father And It'll Satisfy Us: [Rev. William Marrion Branham]
50. Goliath come out and said, "Say, anybody want to fight?"

David said, "Well, who's that guy?"

Said, "Oh, he's a Philistine. He's a warrior. He's a great guy. He's got us all bluffed around here."

He said, "Do you mean to tell me that you let that uncircumcised Philistine stand there and defy the armies of the living God? Why," he said, "shame on you." He said, "I will go fight him."

"Oh," he said, "boy, run on back and take care of your sheep."

"Why, my," he said, "I will never stand and let that be like that."

51. So they took him up to Saul, and Saul was seven foot, you know. So, great big fellow standing there, he said,

"Now, look son, I admire your courage," but said, "that man is a warrior from his birth and you're nothing but a youth. Why, you couldn't fight that man."

And I like little old David, he knowed what he was talking about. He had a witness. He had a testimony.

He said, "Your servant was herding sheep out yonder one day and a lion come in and grabbed a kid and run off with it. And I went and caught him by the beard, took it out of his mouth."

He said, "A bear caught a lamb, started away with it, and I slew him."

He said, "And the same God that delivered me out of the paws of the bear and out of the mouth of the lion will deliver me from that uncircumcised Philistine." Hallelujah.

He knowed what he was talking about. Hallelujah.

David had gotten a revelation from God what he was going to do to Goliath. He moved out in faith against Goliath, the Philistine: [1 Sam. 17:45-46; 49; 51]

45. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

46.This day will The Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

49. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

51. Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

  • This was not ordinary faith, but revelation faith, knowing what was going to happen .
  • David declared it before it happened.
  • It was extraordinary faith.
  • A little boy, bringing down an old time warrior and giant of no match to David.
  • That was not David in the fight, but The God of Israel in David doing the fighting for Israel
  • That was that THE GIFT OF FAITH in operation.
  • God chooses WHO he wants to use his faith through; WHY he uses the vessel he chose;  HOW he used it; WHAT it achieved for him.
  • In this case, he used little David “That ALL THE EARTH may know that there is A GOD IN ISRAEL.”

(2). IT WAS GIVEN TO ABRAHAM FOR THE PROMISED SON – ISAAC:  [Gen.15: 2-6]

  • It took 25 years of holding to the promise until “THAT GIFT FAITH was fulfilled.
  • It was tested by time, by , by scoffers and even by death, upon the very son of promise, but THAT FAITH prevailed.

[Rom. 4:20-22]

20. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21. And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

22. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

(3). IT WAS GIVEN TO THE O/T BELIEVERS FOR THEIR RESURRECCTION AS THE FIRST FRUITS:

A). JACOB. [Gen. 50:3-6]

3. And forty years were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed:     and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days.

4. And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying,     if now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,

5. My father made me swear, saying, lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of     Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father,     and I will come again.

B). JOB, THROUGH IT, ALSO SAW THE RESURRESTION; [Job 19: 25-27]

25. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26. And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27. Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be        consumed within me.

  • JOB by that faith saw himself in the resurrection of the dead in Christ, with Christ.
  • THE PATRIARCHS, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, saw themselves in that resurrection by that faith.
  • JESUS was manifesting that same faith, when he said; “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”
  • JESUS by the same faith saw himself rising up from death, burial in the third day in the tomb. “I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again[
  • This is the same faith; THE BRIDE will have to respond to the last trumpet call by Jesus Christ our Bride Groom at his coming to take her away to the wedding supper.
  • YOU cannot be expecting to be caught away in that twinkling-of-an-eye moment, when you despise any of these nine spiritual gifts. You will need this for that day too.

C). IT WAS GIVEN TO ENOCH FOR THE CATCHING AWAY – “THE RAPTURE” [Gen.5: 25]

      23. And all the days of Enoch werethree hundred sixtyandfive years:

       24. AndEnoch walked with God: and he was not; forGod took him.

[      Heb. 11:5-6]

     5. By faithEnochwas translatedthat he should not see death; and was not found, becauseGod had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, thathe pleased God.

     6. But without faithit is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

D). IT WAS GIVEN TO THE WIDOW OF ZAREPHATH FOR FOOD SUPPLY DURING THE DROUGHT;

[1Kings 17:13-16]

13. And Elijah said unto her,Fear not; go and do as thou hast said:make me thereof a little cake       first, and bring it unto meand aftermake for thee and thy son.

14. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse       of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

       15. And SHEwent anddid according to the saying of Elijah: and she andher HOUSE, did eat many days.

       16. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

It is that same faith that enabled five loaves and two fishes feed over 5,000 people; [Mat.6:38];and over 4,000 on seven loaves and a few fishes in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.[Mat.8:4-9]

  • That faith is still operational today, “if thou canst believe”
  • When God has decided to manifest it, unbelief of any amount cannot stop it.

E). IT WAS GIVEN TO A WIDOW OF THE SONS OF A PROPHETS:  TO MAKE THE MONEY SHE NEEDED TO PAY FOR HER DEAD HUSBAND’S  DEBT; [2Kings 4:1-7]

    1. And there crieda certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophetsunto Elisha, saying, thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: andthe creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

    2. AND ELISHA said unto her, what shall I do for thee? Tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine hand maid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil.

    3. Then he said, go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

    4. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

    6. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, there is not a vessel more. Andthe oil stayed.

    7. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said,Go sell the oil, andpay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

  • It was given as God’s expression of compassion to the new widow.
  • It was God saying, I am still mindful of what your husband did in service to me.
  • That faith multiplied oil from one little pot to fill many, many other pots to raise the require money to pay her husband’s debt.
  • The same faith made available money to pay tax for Peter and The Lord Jesus from a fish.

F). IT WAS GIVEN AS A REWARD TO A BARREN WOMAN WHO RECEIVED AND HONOURED ELISHA AS A HOLY MAN OF GOD AND A PROPHET[2Kings 4:8-14]

220. 64-0823E - QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS #2: [Rev. William Marrion Branham]
 321. BROTHER BRANHAM, IF YOU HAVE TIME PLEASE EXPLAIN [MATTHEW 10:41]. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS A PROPHET'S REWARD?

Well now, Jesus said, "Whosoever receive a prophet in the name of a prophet, receives a prophet's reward." A prophet's reward is to be a friend with the prophet.

Whosoever receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, receives a righteous man's reward. Is that right? And if they want to know what a prophet's reward is, is to be a friend to the prophet. See? That's a reward.

He's your friend. Like the Shunammite woman, it might come in handy sometime. See? It did with her. See? Watch God's servants. Oh, my. Now, I just must close and, friend, I hate to do it, but just looky here, just look what, hundreds. [Brother Branham is urged by the congregation to answer more—Ed.]

  • From the start of her contact with Elisha, she acknowledged him as a holy man of God.
  • She welcomed him, provided shelter, food, and respects.
  • She was rewarded with this faith as a prophet’s reward and her bareness was healed.
  • Though death claimed the life of the child God gave her, that faithrestored him to live again

SO BE CAREFUL HOW YOU TREATA GIFT OR A SERVANT OF GODIN WHOMA GIFT IS OPERATING.

58-0125 - THE QUEEN OF THE SOUTH:[Rev. William Marrion Branham]
53. Now, if this woman and I, who never have seen each other in our lives… If the Holy Spirit will reveal what the woman's there for, you know it'll have to be supernatural then. If youbelieve it's a devil, you will receive a devil's reward. If you believeit's God, you'll receive God's reward. It's the way YOU APPROACH A GIFT.

The woman that touched the hem of Jesus' garment, she received healing. The soldier that put a rag around His head and said, "Let's try out this gift and see if it's right," and he got a stick and hit Jesus on the head, said, "If you're a prophet, tell us who hit you and we'll believe you." God don't clown for nobody. He never opened His mouth and said a word. He just let him alone. And he's in torment tonight, no doubt, and will never be delivered. The woman's in glory tonight enjoying the blessings of God forever. Just depends on what attitude you take. You don't realize the day we're living.

THAT GIFT WAS GIVEN TO MEN, IN ISRAEL, IN TIMES OF WAR:

[A]. MOSESHAD IT, AGAINST PHARAOH’S ARMY AT THE RED SEA:  [Exo. 14:13-14, 21-23; 26-28]

       13. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not, standstill, andsee the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom you ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more.

       14. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

       21. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; andthe Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, andmade the sea dry landand the waters were divided.

       22. And the children of Israelwent into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23. And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s       horses

26. An the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come        again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.

       27. And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

       28. And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, andall the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

[B]. THROUGH THAT FAITH, JERICHO’S INHABITANTS WERE CONQUERED AND THEIR CITY DESTROYED. [Joshua 6:1-6]

     1. Now JERICHO WAS STRAITLY SHUT UP because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in

     2. The Lord said unto Joshua, see, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour

     3. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shall thou do six days.

     4. And seven priests shall bear before the Ark seven trumpets of ram’s horn’s: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets

     5. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blastwith the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.

  • The revelation of that faith made Israel army to believe Joshua and to actinstructions.
  • No regular war weapons were used in this conquest.
  • Their Faith was the substantiation of the collapse of the wall and their advancement to destroy the inhabitants therein.
  • This is what brought down the walls of Jericho and its conquest.

[C]. THAT FAITH IN JOSHUA, HELD THE SUN AND THE MOON TO STAND STILL AT HIS COMMAND

[Joshua 10:12-14]

        12. Then SPAKE JOSHUA TO THE LORD in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the  children of Israel, and he said in the site of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou  Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

13. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon        their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of        heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

 14. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of        man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

THAT FAITH, IN THE PAST AND IN MODERN TIMES HAS DEFIED THE NORMAL COURSE OF NATURE

[D].FIRE USUALLY BURNS. BUT THE FAITH OF 3 HEBREW CHILDREN DEFIED A FURNACE HEATED SEVEN TIMES HOTTER.[Dan.3:19-25]

  • They stood for God’s word and God stood for them
  • The flames of the furnace fire selectively consumed the 3 strong soldiers who were ordered to cast them into it.
  • The 3 three bound Hebrew Children were seen loose and walking in the fire with no hurt.
  • They came out with not a hair burnt; their coats intact; with no smell of fire on them
  • Besides they were joined by one more person, the son of man himself.
  • That faith defies nature; man’s orders; and always brings God’s presence to back it up.

[E]. THE BOILING GREASE IN A DRUM COULD NOT QUENCH THE HOLY GHOST FAITH IN JOHN.

  • Twenty fours of boiling John in a drum of grease could not boil out his Pentecostal fire.
  • The list would include POLYCARP, and many others recorded in Fox’s Book of Martyrs.
  • Think OF PETER, walking on water, defying the law of gravity. It was for a few minutes, but that faith defied gravity.

[G]. THINK ABOUT ELISHA: PULLING UP AN IRON AXE HEAD, FROM DEEP DOWN THE RIVER BED, USING THAT SAME FAITH. [2King.6:4-7]

4. So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.

5.But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, alas, Master! For it was borrowed.

6. And THE MAN OF GOD said where fell it? And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.

7. Therefore said he, take up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

  • God still uses that kind of faith,
  • But he needs totally yielded vessels to operate through.
  • Don’t be a critic in a ditch by the wayside.
  •  But be a participant, and then you will see it happen through you too.
