7.But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another diverskinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

[1Cor.1:5]

5.I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied:for greater ishe that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues,except he interpret,that the church may receive edifying.

13. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

[1Cor.14:27-28]

27.If any man speaks in an unknown tongue,let it beby two, or at the mostby three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28.But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Let me offer a little definition to this gift of the Spirit: “INTERPTRETATION OF TONGUES”

“AN INTERPRETATION OF A TONGUE IS A CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD EXPLANATION, GIVEN SUPERNATURALLY BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, OF A MESSAGE THAT HAS BEEN COMMINICATED  IN AN UNKNOWN LANGUAGE OR TONGUE” [Vocally; Written;  or in Symbols]

Why then does God sometimes choose to communicate to someone in a language which needs to be interpreted, yet he could communicate it directly in a language or a way that is readily understood?  Why does he do that?

REASON # 1. UNKNOWN LANGUAGE IS ALSO A SIGN. According to [1Cor.14:21-22a]

21. In the law it is written, with men ofother tonguesand other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

• So the answer is; “it is for a sign to the unbelievers”; who are in that gathering or church.
• When it is interpreted, and the message is understood by the unbeliever, he will acknowledge that the presence of God is indeed in the midst of these people.
• And they may give their lives to Christ or have faith for healing if by that, the secrets of their hearts were revealed.
• Like Balaam in the bible; God spoke to him by an ass. When he understood what was spoken, he realized that it was a sign from God to him, whether, he should insist on where he was going or not. He turned and went back. [Num. 22:34]

This is for the same reason in his day Jesus spoke many times in Parables, types, and shadows to the unbelievers who throng him in his meetings. He did it often, until the disciple wondered and asked:

REASON # 2; TO KEEP AWAY THE WISE AND THE PRUDENT FROM HIS KINGDOM. [1Cor.14:21-22a]

[Mat. 13:10-11; 13]

10. “Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

11. ... because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but unto them it is not given.

13. Therefore, speak I them in parables: because they seeing see not, and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand.

• They will hear but will never understand
• They will see God working, wonders, miracles and signs but will perceive nothing out of it
• They will remain blind, deaf, unsaveable and lost, in spite of hearing and seeing.

REASON # 3; HE SPOKE IN UNKNOWN TONGUES; PARABLES; AND DARK SENTENCES AS A FULFILMENT OF BIBLE PROPHESY. [ISAIAH 6:9-10]

9.And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

• They will acknowledge God in his miracles, but will not be healed.
• The will see God’s power being manifested in their eyes, but they will not be converted.
• That is God’s way of winnowing husks from the grains.

The gift of the “interpretation of tongues” which we are examining now is specifically, the VOCALLY

EXPRESSED SPEAKING IN TONUES.

RESPONSIBILITY THAT GOES WITH USE OF UNKOWN TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION THEREOF 

(A). PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE GIFT OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES SHOULD PRAY THAT THEY MAY BE ABLE TO INTERPRET.

[1Cor. 14:13]

12. Even so ye, for as much as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13. Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

• People who have the gift of speaking in tongues should pray that they may be able to interpret.
• A message vocally delivered in tongues should not interrupt the ongoing preaching of the word.
• Instructions, orderliness, and application of wisdom should direct it when it comes into use.

(B). DO NOT INTERUPT THE PREACHING OF THE WORD OR AN ALTAR CALL.

YOU MUST KNOW WHEN TO USE IT, AND WHEN NOT TO USE IT.

25. Now, if I've ever had anything that's been a thorn in my flesh, out in the meeting, it's someone to rise up when I'm speaking and then give a message in tongues and break the Spirit. I just come out of a meeting in New York and different places to where ministers let that go on, time after time, and it's nothing but confusion. See, when God is dealing in one line of thought, He would be defeating His Own

purpose, if He's trying to get a line of thought to you, to the congregation, to make an altar call and something butt in.

26.  For instance, like this. We're setting at the table, talking, and we're talking about the Lord. And junior runs in to the table, real quick, takes all the attention away from what we're doing, and is, hollers, scream out, "Dad! Mom! My! My! I just hit a home run down at the team! And we  do all this, that, and the other!" And when we were right on a real right-down sacred subject. Now, him hitting a home run, that's all right; at the baseball game, that's all right. But he's out of order when he breaks in on the message that we're talking about. Let him wait till his time comes and then tell us what he did at the baseball game.

27. Now, that's just the same thing we find with gifts today. That's the reason God cannot trust too many spiritual gifts with people, they don't know how to control them. That's what's the matter today, thereason we don't have no more than we do.

28. And we do find there's a lot of impersonation of spiritual gifts. But I don't believe that's so here in our church. I'm thankful for that. I don't believe it's an impersonation at all. I believe we have genuine gifts, but we must know how to control those gifts.

• That is confusion, indecency and disorder if there is no appropriate control.
• God is not the author of such operation.
• The person gifted to yield to the manifestation of a gift of the Holy Spirit, has self control too.

(C).THE MISUSE OF THESE GIFTS DO NOT TAKE THEM AWAY.

And by that, it brings the people to a realization. Now, preaching the Gospel; that's the Holy Spirit does that. Teach them the Bible; that's the Holy Spirit does that. Foreseeing things and foretelling things; that's the Holy Spirit. It's all God. It's gifts in the Church. It's a shame it cuts so many of them out, valuable gifts. There's gifts of speaking in tongues; there's gifts of interpretation of tongues. It's been misused greatly, but that doesn’t take it out of the Church. It's there anyhow.

• Such misuse of the gifts of speaking in Tongues, and interpretation of Tongues in past years has caused posterity to be fearful of the manifestation of gifts of the Holy Spirit.

• It has also provided ground to oppose; and ammunitions to fight against gifts of the Holy Spirit wholesomely, including the genuine ones.
• Be reminded: that for every true move of God, there is an impersonating counterpart.

• Also remember this that, A LIE is nothing more than THE TRUTH PERVERTED.

• So, if you are following the instruction and the Wisdom of God, on the use of gifts of the HOLY SPIRIT, there would not be any confusion, or fear, but blessings

(D). SPEAKING IN TONGUES; INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES; IS NOT A PREMEDITATED ACTION. IF YOU ARE NOT OPERATING CARNALLY, IT COMES SPONTENEOUSLY; ORDERLY; AND WITHOUT CONFUSION

105. And then one day coming down a railroad track, I was walking down the railroad track this side of Scottsburg, coming down the railroad track, patrolling. .... And I was coming down the track, and all of a sudden… I was walking along there; I was singing. I always sang. I had different places where I went to pray.

I was going along there, singing, and all at once I come to find outI was speaking in tongues(See?), not knowing what I was doing. Speaking in tongues comes in such combustion that the person hardly knows what they're doing. Or, they don't know what they're saying.

And interpretation's the same way. They know not what they're going to say. They have no more ideathey're going to say it, because it's supernatural. See, as long as YOU GET THE NATURAL IN IT, then YOU GOT NATURAL. You see? But if something just grabs you and takes a hold of you and you're doing it… See?

(E). CONTROLLING, AND GIVING SCRIPTURAL GUIDANCE ON THE PROPER USE OF GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT DURING CHURCH SERVICE, IS NOT QUENCHING THE FREE MOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

• Satan knows what harm the gifts of the Holy Spirit would do to his kingdom if used properly.
• Satan will interfere as much as he can to make it look bad, by injecting acts of confusion into it.
• We too, may be responsible just by being carnal ourselves. That is not satan, but you, the human
• Remember now why the gift of discerning spirits  is needed.
• So, we must be responsible, and accountable to God, in our exercise of these gifts.

(F). IF SOMEONE GETS OUT OF ORDER WITH IT, IT SHOULD BE HANDLED GENTLY, WISELY AND CORRECTLY.

You notice that A sinner is a sinner; he does not commit sins. But the church commits sin, does wrong, gets a wrong thought, wrong impression, makes scruples, wobbles like a little child walking, trying to learn how to walk. He just doesn’t know how to walk good yet, 'cause he's a little boy.

But we have a hand that reaches down, gets us and steadies us, and say, "Make this step this a-way, son." He doesn't pick us up and spank us because we made a mistake; He doesn't beat us to death because we're trying to walk. He loves us like we love our children.

90. A real, real daddy wouldn't whip his child when he's trying to walk, if he falls down on the floor. Reach right down with a big strong hand and pick him up, take both hands a hold of him, say, "This is the way you do it, son. Walk like this."

That's the way God does His church: reaches down and gets him in His arm, picks him up, and say, "Walk like this, son. Here, don't say it like that; talk it like this.

Now, I don't care what the church says, what this says, what that says, you say it like this." Like this, this is It. "My Word preaches it, you stay right with It, walk with It. Stay right with It. Don't care what everybody else says, stay right with It. Walk like This. This is the way you makeyour steps."

46  And if any unbeliever would happen to be there, be disorderly; a kind-hearted person would go to them, such as an usher or a deacon, and would tell them to be reverent while the service is in order. Because, the Spirit is in the building, and the gifts of God are being made manifest for the edifying of the Church.

And this person must be told in love, and not harshly. Unlessit would come to a place where they were drinking, or some disobedient, or something another that would be interfering with the worship of the Lord, which the gifts are, then, being manifest; then the person should be led out to one side, to one of the back rooms, or somewhere, and be talked to, and dealt with, kindly.   

So, brethren, here are God’s instructions to us:

• By the Word of God, through his Bible; [1Cor 14:1-40]; It has all that we need.

• And through his mouthpiece:[Mal 4:4-5] given in the message to his end time bride.

• If you are part of this Bride, you will be happy to take his instructions and live it out.

• Are you in the Church Triumphant? Then enjoy the instructions of the one who loved you and died for you, on the cruel cross of Calvary.

THE CONCEPT OF UNKNOWN LANGUAGEOR OTHER TONGUES BEING A SIGN; IS SPOKEN OF IN VARIOUS SCRIPTURESIN THE BIBLE AND BY THE PROPHET OF [MAL. 4:5-6] IN THE MESSAGE.

[ISAIAH 28:11]

11. For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12. To whom he said; this is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

God also performed some other signs in the Old Testament, besides the sign to Balaam by his ass.

EXAMPLE (A). God wrote a message on a wall in an unknown language to King Belshazzar of Babylon:

[Dan.5:25-30]

25. And thisis the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

26. Thisisthe interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.

27. TEKEL;Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.

28. PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

29. Then commanded Belshazzar and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third rulerin the kingdom.

30.In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.

• ·This was not a vocally given message as in ]
• ·But a written message, in an unknown language to King Belshazzar of Babylon.
• ·It needed an interpretation just as the vocally delivered message.
• ·Daniel was the gifted person to give the interpretation and he did.
• ·That written tongue message was a SIGN TO BELTESHAZZER, concerning himself and his kingdom
• ·It happened according to Daniel’s interpretation.

EXAMPLE (B).The Great image, whose brightness was excellent, but whose form was terrible. It was communicatedto NEBUCHADNEZZAR, KING of Babylon IN A DREAM.

[Dan. 2:31-34]

31. Thou, O king, sawest, and behold A GREAT IMAGE. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

32.This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass

33. His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

34.Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feetthat wereof iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.

• God gave Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon a sign, presented to him in his sleep by a dream and he understood not what God was communicating to him through that DREAM.
•  Daniel, the Hebrew prophet, in exile, was given the understanding and interpretation thereof.
• God spoke to him in a language he did not understand until Daniel gave him the understanding.
• God gave Nebuchadnezzar the King of Babylon a sign, presented to him in his sleep by a dream and he understood not what God was communicating to him through that DREAM.
•  Daniel, the Hebrew prophet, in exile, was given the understanding and interpretation thereof.
• God spoke to him in a language he did not understand until Daniel gave him the understanding.
• Until Daniel gave him the understanding, he didn’t know what it meant, and it troubled him for days.

EXAMPLE # 3: God spoke in The Language of the Galileans and all nations under the sun heard and understood it in their own mother tongues.

[Acts.2:4-12]

4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6. Now when this was noised abroad,the multitude came together,and were confounded,because that every man heard them speakin his own language.

7. And they were all amazedand marvelled,saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? [120 men and women?]

8. And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

9. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10. Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11. Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tonguesthe wonderful worksof God.

12. And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?

God was giving the Gentile World A SIGN which was prophesied in [ISAIAH 28:11]

11. For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12. To whom he said; “Thisis the rest“ wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and thisisthe refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Look in the Scriptures and search them. This is the way it began. This is the way it'll end. Did you ever notice that the Gentile kingdom was issued in by unknown tongues and interpretations? KING NEBUCHADNEZZAR, the GREAT IMAGE, unknown tongues and interpretations. It goes out the same way—the Gentile age.   

• Nebuchadnezzar Mysterious Dream, of THE GREAT IMAGE; with HEAD OF GOLD; BREAST AND ARMS OF SILVER; BELLY AND THIGHS OF BRASS; LEGS OF IRON; FEET OF PART CLAY; AND PART IRON; was an unknown language to Nebuchadnezzar.
• He did not understand it.
• Daniel understood it, and gave him the interpretation.
• The interpretation said, it was the description of how the Gentile kingdom was going to start and how it was going to end.
• It was not verbally or vocally communicated, but made known to him as a mysterious image by a dream.

REUBEN, said, "We ought not to have killed our brother," said, "because, you see, we're getting paid back for what we done."

And Joseph standing there; they didn't think he could understand Hebrew. But he knowed it. Some thinks, can't understand speaking in tongues, but He knows all about it. Yeah. He knows.

The Gentile kingdom come in with speaking in tongues and interpretations, in the head of gold (the first head) before it fell.

 What ended that first Gentile dispensation? A Handwriting of unknown tongues on the wall and a manthere could interpret it and tell what it was. It goes out the same way. Amen. Entered in and goes

out the same way.

• In Daniels day, the Gentile Kingdom came in with a forced Image worship.
• At the ending of the Gentile Kingdom, there is also coming a forced Image worship.
• In Daniels day, it was a real stone image, representing Daniel
• At the ending of the Gentile World System, it is going to be an ECCLESITICAL SYSTEM of dogmas, creeds, misinterpretations, denominationalism, Nicolaitanism, and heresies; persecutions, The Squeeze on the Bride, Man worship as God,  etc, which will be forced upon people to accept.
• As there was a supernatural interpretation of those unknown tongues (Image of Diverse metals) and (unknown Handwriting  on the wall) at the beginning,
• So will there be a man with supernatural interpretations of God’s hidden secrets, His unknown mysteries at the ending of the Gentile World System.
• Seven Seals are opened and revealed; The 7 Stars to the 7 Church ages; The Godhead; Mystery Babylon; The man of sin: 666; Marriage and Divorced; The Mystery of the 7 Thunders; The Day of Coming of The Lord for the Rapture; The Squeeze and The Third Pull; No eternal Hell;

The manifestation of UNKNOWN TONGUES or [UNKNOWN LANGUAGE], and INTERPRETATIONS, are not only Spiritual gifts for benefiting the church, but THE CONCEPT itself is a very SIGNIFICANT SIGN for THE ENDING OF THE GENTILE DISPENSATION. It is important to know THIS PORTION OF THE TRUTH also  to be able to understand THE EVENTS OF THE END TIME we are living in.

I hope this short study will cause you to have more respect for this Gift of the Holy Spirit and for that matter, ALL OF THE 9 SPIRITUAL GIFTS, as a whole. They are of God. Nothing of God should be despised.

They have NO AGE LIMIT attached to. They are FOR ALL TIMES and FOR ALL AGES
