WHAT IS THE “FALLING AWAY” OF [2THESSALONIAN 2:3]?

[II THESSALONIANS 2:2-3]

“That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”

 

In short, it is defection from truth; or to swerve away from faith like Hymenaeus; or to be detoured into the wrong route.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE CAUSES OUTLINED FOR US TO SEE, BY OUR PROPHET:

We've let our floors and our tables become full of old dirty, sexy love stories in the stead of the Word of God. There isn't a kid in this city but what knows more about Arthur Godfrey, or Elvis Presley, or Pat Boone, or David Crockett than they do know about Jesus Christ. That's straight, but it's oh so true.

No wonder there's a falling away. And what does the pastors know? They don't know what's the cause of it. They are the cause of it.

E-14... And so has our modern trend today, falling away from the things of God and has brought the world to one of the greatest idolatries that we have, that's idolled you. Just idolling around. "There'll come a falling away, for men will be heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, and despisers of those that are good: not the right discernment.

E-32So Simeon... of a great reputation... Don't make any difference about reputation. That's what... too much is getting to our churches today, even to our Pentecostal churches. Too much fashions, too much rep... stuff, like we have great reputations, you know, in the society, and things. What we need is an old fashioned, back woods, sky blue, sin killing religion. What we need is gun-barrel straight, something that'll preach the gospel without compromise, and let the chips fall wherever they wish to, and chop into it. We need men of God, stand with power; get the church back into the place where it ought to be.

Something's wrong. We realize that. We all know it. We're aware of it. Our churches are falling away, getting weak. What we need is not a new organization to spring up, what we need is not another latter rain; what we need is back to faith in God's Word and God's Bible. A soul-shaking experience back in the church, that's what we need. A clean up, a straighten-up, all through our churches and our organizations. Quit drawing those boundary lines, just this and that.

E-35If I only look down tonight and look here in this city, look for the last three months where I've been across the nation and see the falling away of the churches, the indifference of the pastors, see the indifference amongst the people who come out. Look like fish and loaves. And the first little thing, got enough temper to fight a buzz saw, and indifferent, nasty:... “

121Look at the world in the position; now, that's the world. Look at the church, where it is. Look where it's at: falling away, lukewarm, Laodicea, putting out the Word, the whole thing going into the big council of churches, the World Council of Churches, forming the mark of the beast; which the Bible proclaims is wrong, and all those things, and yet the Protestants driving right into it headlong, not knowing the Scripture. Their tradition... Oh, they are wanting a--a--a--a power man, and they're going to get one. They'll see that they get it.

RESULTS OF THE FALLING AWAY:

1. SCRAP HEAPS OF MINISTER, CHRISTIANS PILED ALONG THE ROAD.

23-2And now, we're supposed to do His work. He said, "He that believeth on Me..." (St. John 14:7) "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also." You're beginning to reflect the works of Christ. But so many of us try to do the works of Christ before the reflection of Christ is in us. Now, there's the trouble. We find those things happening. You know it. I know it. We see these stumbles along the road. We find the scrap heaps of ministers, of Christians, piled along the road. Is because they didn't go into it right.

2. MANY HAVE CROPPED UP MIRIADS OF MISLEADING DOCTRINES WHICH HAVE CAUSED SPIRITUALSHIPWRECK TO MANY. HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES:

(A). POLYGAMY DOCTRINE; from ministers who either knowingly or ignorantly allowed Satan to         manipulate their minds and throw them into spiritual deception. They are fallen away!

(B). RETURN MINISTRY; from ministers who have no spiritual revelation about Mortal body, immortal body, and glorified body. Preaching is by mortals to mortals, now. [Lk. 16:27-31]. After resurrection, those who were asleep receive glorified bodies which have nothing to do with sin or sickness. Those who are alive and ready at His coming, are changed in a twinkling of an eye into glorified bodies too. If you are waiting for the prophet to come to preach to you again, you are deceived, and lost.

(C). TWO LORDS DOCTRINE; from ministers who have not yet seen the revelation of the Godhead.

[Rev.1:18]; [1Tim. 3:16]; [Eph.4:4-6]; [Deut. 6:4]. Without it, they are in a fallen state.

(D). The over-10 versions of “SEVEN THUNDERS MISCONCEPTIONS”;from minsters who presume they are somebody yet they are only unfortunate victims of pride and seekers of personal vain glory. [Phips.2:3]; [Rom.12:3].

(E). PAROUSIA DOCTRINE; from ministers who made their own wrong interpretations and arrived at their own unscriptural conclusions about supernatural events God performed in this age. [1Pet.1:20- 21]; [1Pet. 2:10]

(F). SERPENT SEED; There is only one truth preached by The Messenger to Laodicea Church Age. The others are fruit of unbelief from those who could not accept and receive of what Brother William Branham preached. Here are a few scriptural backings for this truth: [1Jn.3:12]; [Jn.8:42-44]; [Jude.14]; [Chronicles.1:1-4]

(G), DATE SETTERS FOR RAPTURE DAY; It looks like a combination of flagrant disregard of Scriptures; wrong inspiration; having not the spirit of Christ in them; wolves in sheepskins; deceived impersonators as Jannes and Jambres were; Absence of spiritual revelation about the coming of The Lord, etc. Can these scriptures be ignored? [Mt.24:36]; [Mt.25:13]; [Acts.1:6-7]; [IIPet.3:10]

 

3. CREATION OF MORE DENOMINATIONAL-LIKE BARRIERS BETWEEN BELIEVERS:

The same spirit which Paul found among The Corinthians is upon the End Time Believers again. If Paul was raised to see what we have, this is what he would say again, about division in the church of Christ: [I CORINTHIANS 1:10-13]

 

“10Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and [that] there be no divisions among you; but [that] ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them [which are of the house] of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?”

 

 

WHAT DO WE DO TO AVOID FALLING AWAY?

Among other options, we can pray and take this counsel from The Apostle Jude: [JUDE 20-23]

“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And of some have compassion, making a difference:

And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present [you] faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,”

 

We can also take the counsel of The Apostle Peter: [2Pet.1:10]concerning the 7-Fold Stature of Jesus Christ in us, [II PETER 1:5-10]

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

 

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.“

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

This is my little thought to share with you who care about the warning on Falling Away.
